Women Travelers Get 'Best of Both Adventures' to Satisfy Both Body & Mind
11-08-2007 : New York (August 2007)

It's time for a unique vacation experience. Best of Both Women's Adventures has announced three new "Personal Power" adventures designed for women seeking more than another ordinary vacation. Trips begin December 27, 2007 to three "eco-chic" destinations, each with its own natural beauty and allure - Patagonia, Argentina; Rincon, Puerto Rico; and Panama.

"While our adventures range from five days to two weeks, the memories will last a lifetime since we deliver the best of both worlds -- rejuvenation for both body and mind. Women learn to focus on their total well-being," says Dez Bartelt, co-founding partner of Best of Both Adventures, a company with more than 20 years of experience in women's premiere adventure travel programs.

The new excursions include outings to the Andes Mountains, the Panamanian rainforest and the sparkling beaches of Puerto Rico coupled with teaching women fitness skills such as yoga or more challenging sports of wind surfing, white-water rafting or rappelling down contoured walls of bright red and yellow canyons. Exclusive Best of Both Adventures itineraries consist of 5-star accommodations, spa treatments, organic foods prepared by local chefs, and personalized experience through small group activities.

Excursions are geared to all levels of ability and all ages. Depending on the destination, additional programs include: glacier trekking, horseback riding, mountain climbing, mountain biking, sea kayaking, snorkeling and rafting.

"Our goal is help women live longer and healthier lives while having fun," says co-founder Trish Defossey. "Regardless of ability, all of our guests learn new skills that they take home and develop a lifelong passion for."

Best of Both Adventures three new 'Personal Power' packages are:

  • Patagonia Luxe: complimentary yoga and spa treatment and hiking in the Andes Mountains. The Nahuel Huapi National Park offers extraordinary views of snow-capped mountains, rivers, waterfalls and pristine lakes fed by glaciers. (Experience white water rafting and glacier trekking.)
  • Panama: go beyond the Panama Canal to Boquete and go on guided nature walks through the only rainforest in Latin America. Shopping in Panama City is just 10 minutes away.
  • Puerto Rico: explore ocean and Caribbean sea activities such as parasailing, wind surfing, surf boarding and snorkeling, as well as forest hiking, biking and horseback riding.

According to Iconoculture, a global trends research company, women are the backbone of adventure travel, because they have shifted their values to collect experiences rather than things. "Traditional vacations sitting by the pool and dining at all-you-can-eat buffets are out," according to Deb Ottinger, Marketing Director. "Best of Both Adventures creates experiences that allow women to learn new skills; therefore, bringing home tools to truly live better lives." Ottinger notes that European destinations are losing favor because of the unfavorable exchange rate with the Euro. "At the same time, the uncharted, non-commercial destinations of South America are becoming very appealing to women all around the world."
